Right, my first real post on thedigitalblogger..
Had an exciting day of sifting through marketing articles mainly on TheDrum and Revolution. I'm quite interested in Land Rover's use of twitter to promote a new line of vehicles at the New York International Auto Show,
'Using Twitter, consumers can write "#LRNY" with each Tweet to comment about the new Land Rover vehicles or post links, news and photos.'
This is the first time a car manufacturer has used branded hashtags to promote themselves - I think this is a big step forward, with the other big names surely to follow suit and use twitter's capabilities to the full. It'll be interesting to see if LR's innovation will work and get people tweeting about their new models.
Microsoft have also come up with an intriguing prediction that by next year, specifically June, the time spent online will outstrip time spent watching TV in Europe. I guess this is an inevitable future but, as Microsoft point out, we are not abandoning TV, just more inclined to download and watch what we want when we want. I agree that more emphasis will be on mobile phone applications streaming channels and web TV, however, I just love their ability to predict the exact month this will happen - Mystic Microsoft!
Gym time.
